Thank you for considering FUSION for your donation of usable furniture and household goods. As a non-profit 501(c)(3) Washington-based organization providing transitional housing for homeless families, we gratefully appreciate your contribution. We will provide a receipt for your tax purposes.

FUSION’s mission is to give each family we serve a safe and secure home for up to 24 months as they work toward self-sufficiency. We own 10 two-bedroom condominiums in Federal Way for this purpose; we also own four homes and manage an additional condo in Northeast Tacoma.

Each of these 15 housing units is fully furnished to provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere. They include furniture, appliances, kitchenware, dishes, linens, bedding, and even toys and games for children.

Rooms are cheerful and functional to the needs of a family, with tastefully coordinated décor throughout. Nearly all of this is done with donated items! Without your donations, FUSION volunteers would be unable to create the quality housing that is our goal.

When you give goods to FUSION, keep in mind how they will be used. We cannot accept things that are fragile or unsafe. Dishes, glassware, pans and crockery will go in the dishwasher. Towels and linens will wipe up spills. Little hands and feet will play on furniture. Everything in our units is very well used!

Also, all donations must be clean and in good repair. We do not accept broken furniture or appliances, or anything that is significantly worn. Our residents pay a portion of their income to live in FUSION housing, and we cannot disappoint them.

Items we most need that are replaced often are:

• Gently used towels
• Sheets, blankets and comforters for double and twin-size beds
• Everyday glassware, dishes and silverware
• Good quality pots, pans and utensils

We also appreciate small sofas, chairs, tables and desks, as well as lamps, pictures and accessories that make a house a home.

Our needs are not always immediate so we store donations until they can be used. But our space is limited and there will be times when we are unable to accept even the best donations.

FUSION reserves the right to use donations as needed. Occasionally we pass things along to other charitable organizations. Or in rare cases we auction a fine item at our annual fund-raising event. Be assured your donation will benefit someone in need, however it is used.
